Negima! Another World – OAD2

Same deal as last time, and I don’t really feel like doing a truckload of screencaps this time, so I’ll just say why everyone should watch this: Inoue Marina’s hilariously awesome performance as Kotarou.

ホンッマ~

And yes yes, delicious fanservice is delicious, etc.

Negima: Another World OAD2 PV

In case anyone totally missed it, like me, I believe a ktkr is necessary.

(My blog entries really are all over the place these days, huh.)

Negima! Another World OAD 1 subs

Sept. 23rd: Didn’t notice, but a fansub came out.

Sept. 23rd (again): Since more-easily-manageable fansubs are now out, I won’t be fixing this file. You can still grab it if you want QUALITY translation and Teutonic esoterica exactness.

Mediafire.

A simple hackjob .ass file to merge with a raw for people who can’t wait for a proper release – this one, since that’s what I timed it to.

Not exactly an expert here, so it’s not perfectly timed – mainly because AegiSub couldn’t load the video for whatever reason, and I had to time it on sound alone. Only the OP has romaji, and I didn’t bother translating it.

Questions/complaints/etc. can go in this post’s comments.

Negima! Another World – OAD 1

Sept. 19th: If you can’t wait for a proper release, there’s a DDL sub file here.

Keeping initial impressions short (80+ screencaps ahead):

  • Animation and art in the first half was rougher than expected, especially the opening sequence, but serviceable. Apparently they saved up all the budget for the fight scene, which takes the entire latter half of the episode.
  • The story is incredibly telescoped, again, in the first half, which is unfortunate. The second half sets up the basis of the main Magic World plot, ending right at the Forced Displacement Magic.
  • Soundtrack is a fairly high point as usual…
  • …though the voice work remains much the same as Ala Alba – much to be desired, though the core cast at least were acceptable. Hopefully this will improve in OAD2.

Negima! Another World OAD1 Promo

As the trailer itself points out… “battle, battle, battle!” All that needs to be said, really.

OAD2 will apparently have a guest special with Kotarou’s VA, Inoue Marina. Bigger news is that buying all the OAD’s will have an extra in the form of Negi’s Pactio card holder from Vol.27 as well as an as-yet-undecided extra Pactio card.

Vol.27 + OAD1 will be coming out September 17th.
Vol.28 + OAD2 is scheduled for November 17th.

Bit late on my part, but the first promotional video for the new Negima! OAD, ‘Another World’ is being streamed on the official website.

Highlights:

* New OP is… hmm. Decent, I suppose, on a ‘Happy Material’ level.

* Every scene seems to be from OAD1, which would mean the episode covers Chapter 184 to at least 187: arrival at Wales, meeting Nekane and visiting Negi’s town, going through the Gate, landing at Megalomesembria…

* From art style alone, it’s a pretty faithful adaptation, just like the first OAD series.

As a reminder: OAD1 will come with the Limited Edition of Volume 27, which is due September 17th.

Negima! Another World site update (Apr30)

Only one day late!

Anyway – Fate gets his little intro piece as Negi’s arch-enemy, other “mysterious” characters (Fate’s Gateport crew), the more serious mood of the Magic World arc, and apparently something important about the big mandala.

Aside from that last note, what I’m really wondering right now is this:

Coincidence?

EDIT: Okay so yeah, it probably is a coincidence. Ignore the straw-grasping.
